1950s Rambler Sauna & Bathroom Remodel

This 1950s rambler received a thoughtful update focused on wellness, relaxation, and everyday function. The project transformed a full bathroom on the main level into a refreshed three-quarter bath while creating a custom sauna retreat in the lower level.

The sauna is the true star of the project. Designed as a compact two-person sauna within an existing lower-level bedroom, the space was carefully planned around the essential elements of a sauna environment, with the adjacent bathroom providing a dedicated washing area and the family room offering a place to cool down and relax.

New Spaces worked closely with the design team and sauna partner to thoughtfully integrate the sauna into the existing home. Cedar benches, warm LED lighting, ventilation, a dedicated sauna heater, and carefully planned insulation, vapor protection, and drainage all contribute to a comfortable and functional space designed for relaxation.
