About the Award-Winning Project This year’s ROMA Award honors one of our standout design-build projects: a 1950s St. Paul rambler kitchen, main floor, mudroom, and bathroom remodel led by designer Jayme Lennon and Homeowner Advisor Jennifer McClellan. The homeowner loved their mid-century home and the charm of their neighborhood, but the kitchen was dark, closed off, and no longer suited to their lifestyle.Through New Spaces’ signature design-first, no-surprises process, our team reimagined the home’s main level. We opened the kitchen to create a seamless flow into adjacent dining room, and incorporated contemporary semi-custom cabinetry and quartz countertops for a fresh, timeless look. The transformation turned a confined, outdated space into a bright, functional gathering place that blends colorful features with modern performance.
