The homeowners originally came to New Spaces because they needed to remodel their primary bathroom in order for it to become more ADA accessible. After meeting with them initially, we also discussed updating a hall bathroom and a light kitchen update so it could be more functional.
In the kitchen, we made small adjustments to the layout to achieve a more functional and accessible environment. One of the most impactful changes was moving the refrigerator to an adjacent wall with previously unused space. This improved traffic flow in the kitchen and allowed us to install a tall, custom pantry cabinet with roll-out storage for added convenience and capacity. The new pantry and relocated fridge not only provided better accessibility for the homeowners, but also significantly reduced congestion in a previously tight area.
We achieved a sleek, contemporary design by updating the light fixtures in the kitchen and main living space, along with adding new recessed LED lights throughout the space. This lighting transformation replaced outdated track lighting and introduced multiple dimmable layers of light, making the long, narrow space feel brighter and more inviting. A new chandelier above the island and dining table further enhanced the atmosphere and functionality of the home.
While the primary bathroom was the original focus of the project, our design-build team also refreshed that space to meet accessibility needs — including reconfiguring the layout to allow for wheelchair access, installing a zero-threshold shower, and relocating plumbing for better functionality. We also made minor updates in the hall bath to coordinate with the finishes in the rest of the home.
