New Spaces Launches Holiday Giving Initiative to Support VEAP Through December 31, 2025

New Spaces Design-Build Remodeling is proud to announce a new charitable initiative supporting VEAP, the Twin Cities’ largest food pantry, during the 2025 holiday season. From November 17 to December 31, New Spaces will donate 25% of all NEW Design Agreement fees for Design Agreements (DA:s) signed during this period to help ensure local families have access to healthy food and essential support.

This initiative follows New Spaces’ participation in the VEAP Fundraising Gala on November 8, where—together with the generosity of clients, staff, guests, and industry partners—the company helped contribute over $10,000 to VEAP’s mission. Special thanks go to the industry partners who supported the event through table sponsorships, contributions, and auction donations: Dakota County Lumber Company, Floorcoverings International, Granite Tops, and Warners Stellian Appliance.

Following the VEAP Gala, it became clear that community need continues to rise—particularly due to reductions in SNAP benefits and other support funding that many households rely on. Recognizing the importance of stepping up during a critical time of year, New Spaces leadership made the decision to expand its philanthropic efforts.

“Our efforts related to the Gala are great, but the needs continue to be significant,” said Shawn Nelson, President of New Spaces. “We left the event even more enthusiastic about supporting our community. We want to ensure all people and families have access to food during the holidays, and this new initiative allows us to do our part.”

VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) is the Twin Cities’ largest food pantry and a cornerstone resource for families facing food insecurity. Beyond food assistance, VEAP provides access to healthy foods, social services, financial assistance, and holistic support for local individuals and families. VEAP’s values—Compassion, Collaboration, Inclusion, Innovation, Responsiveness, and Integrity—reflect a commitment to building a more resilient and equitable community.

As a second-generation family business founded in the early 1980s, New Spaces has deep roots in the Twin Cities. Led by President Shawn Nelson, a long-time industry leader and community advocate, New Spaces continues to prioritize service, integrity, and meaningful impact. The company’s ongoing charitable initiative provides clients with a unique opportunity: every new Design Agreement signed between November 17 and December 31 directly contributes to helping feed families across the Twin Cities.

New Spaces invites clients, partners, and the community to help spread the word by sharing this message, engaging with the company’s social media posts, and supporting VEAP’s mission during this holiday season. Together, we can make a real difference for families in need.
